Evangelos Mantoulidis (10 August 1938 – 23 April 2007) studied the Classics at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki,.〔http://www.auth.gr/en〕 He was employed in the private sector for a number of years during which time he founded the Tutoring Schools "Paideia" and "Theoritiko". He proceeded to establish his own institution, Mandoulides Schools (http://www.mandoulides.gr) in 1978. Evangelos Mantoulidis' most prominent publication is that of the ''Etymological Dictionary of Ancient Greek''. He married Ekaterini Patakou, the current director of Mandoulides Schools and fathered three children. Evangelos Mantoulidis died unexpectedly in the spring of 2007. ==Institutions established== He worked in the private education sector lengthily; specifically, he was employed at Langadikia and Delliou Private Schools as well as at Anatolia College. During the same period, he established the Tutoring Schools “Paideia” and “Theoritiko”. In 1978, he founded the Kindergarten and Primary School of Mandoulides Schools,〔http://www.mandoulides.gr/en〕 a private, coeducational institution. His vision was all inclusive: having a contemporary Greek education as his guiding principle, he inserted elements of European origin and global perspective in his model of instruction. In 1991 the Junior and Senior High School were founded. The year of 2002 was marked by the establishment of the 2nd Kindergarten-Primary School and soon after by the 2nd Junior - Senior High School. The Day Care Center has been in operation since 2007. Over the past 35 years the school has gained an excellent academic reputation. The schools’ high-school graduates have received full tuition scholarships in top U.S. universities, like Harvard, MIT, Duke, Princeton Dartmouth and Stanford. Mandoulides Schools' professors have received the Yale Educator award. The Yale Office of Undergraduate Admissions has the distinct pleasure of recognizing educators worldwide as recipients of the Yale Educator Award. The Yale Educator Recognition Program recognizes outstanding educators from around the world who have supported and inspired their students to achieve at high levels.
